Smoky Mountains

In 2006 students traveled by bus to the Great Smoky Mountains Region and received training from the Highlander Research and Education Center.

The group took part in a variety of activities at the Institute, focusing on confronting injustice, teamwork, bullying, and economic diversity. The setting allowed the students to compare the diversity found in nature with that found in today's society.

About $38,000 was raised to cover trip costs.
